Charleston Weddings: The Warmest Welcome into the Wedding Wonderland
Feb 25, 2025
If you've ever dreamt of working in a wedding scene as enchanting as Paris, but with a little more Southern charm and a lot more shrimp and grits, welcome to Charleston, South Carolina! This city isn’t just a wedding destination—it’s the wedding destination. And as one wedding editor once told me, Charleston isn’t just a trend—it’s a place that sticks with you like your favorite song. It lingers, it inspires, and honestly, it’s impossible to get it out of your mind, and even if you’ve never been it’s on your list to visit…. just like Paris.
But let’s be real for a second—what makes Charleston’s wedding scene even more wonderful isn’t just the dreamy venues or the picturesque views. It’s the amazing, talented, and incredibly welcoming vendors who make the industry here feel like one big, creative family. I got a taste of that this evening at a networking event at the Kersey House put on by Lanier & Co. and Custom Vows by Casey which left me with a full heart ready to take on the industry and a lot of new friends.
Picture this: a room full of wedding professionals, all buzzing with excitement and ideas. It felt like stepping into a creative wonderland—everyone was ready to connect, share, and inspire. From florists to photographers to planners, the energy in the room was contagious. No one was too busy to chat, and no one was shy about offering a helping hand. It was like being invited into an exclusive club where everyone wants to see you succeed.
And here’s the best part: everyone was genuinely excited to collaborate. Whether you’re a wedding pro or just starting to dip your toes in, there’s this wonderful sense of “we’re all in this together” that makes the scene here so special. You could literally feel the ideas bouncing around like confetti at a reception—new concepts, fresh ideas, and a lot of “I love that idea!” moments.
It’s easy to fall in love with Charleston—because it’s not just a place, it’s a community. The vendors here aren’t just trying to book their next gig, they’re passionate about making every wedding unforgettable. There’s no shortage of creativity, and there’s a real joy in supporting each other. Want to collaborate? You’ve got it. Need a fresh idea? The brainstorming will never stop. Charleston’s wedding scene is like the best kind of party—everyone’s invited, and the vibe is always good.
As someone new to the scene, I was blown away by how inclusive and welcoming everyone was. I mean, I’ve barely dipped my toes in, and already, I felt like I had found my place. If you’re looking for a community where you can grow, create, and be supported in the process, Charleston is the place to be.
So, if you’re a wedding planner looking to tap into a sea of amazing, talented vendors who are just waiting for you to call them up and say “let’s create something wonderful,” Charleston is calling your name. I’ve had the honor of meeting some incredible vendors who are full of fresh ideas and endless creativity—and trust me, you’ll want to check them out. If you haven’t already, follow their work on social media and see for yourself what makes Charleston weddings so special. If you are a planner who already lives here in Charleston, please reach out!
